Harry Mitrou – Shihan (Kugyo Happo Hiken)

Member and executive of Academy of Japanese Martial Arts of (Academy of Martial and Educated Arts) Bujinkan Greece® Budo and Ninpo Taijutsu [ Bujinkan Dojo Athens® ]. Recognized by the Ministry of Athens since 1999. He is also a member and executive of Bujinkan Dojo France, and F.F.K.A.M.A (Federation Francaise de Karate et Arts Martiaux Affinitaires).  His interest in the Martial Arts and particularly in  the martial art of Soke Masaaki Hatsumi Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, began in 1990. Since then Arnaud Cousergue (Bujinkan France – Menkyo kaiden Kugyo) has been his Instructor.

Graduate of the public educational instute of Athens ( I.E.K) as a designer (architectural). He lived in Paris for 11 years, where he completed the 1st circle of study of Architectural faculty (Ecole d Architecture Paris – Tolbiac). Afterwards he turned to the study of Plastic Arts. He has also graduated from  the sector of Nouveaux Media (web master, web design, infographie, video for internet) in the University Paris VIII. He speaks the following foreign languages: French, English, Spanish.

He began exercing at the age of 7.  He was particularly skillful at rowing and during 1991 – 1992 he won the Greek championship.

His interest in the Martial Arts and particularly in  the martial art of Soke Masaaki Hatsumi Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, began in 1990. Since then Arnaud Cousergue (Bujinkan France – Menkyo kaiden) has been his Instructor.

Harry Mitrou (Bujinkan Shihan) teaches in various seminars in Greece, France, Serbia. Training is an on going process for him and that is why he follows great Instructors of the Bujinkan such as Pedro Fleitas (Spain Menkyo Kaiden), Peter King (England Menkyo Kaiden), Svaneric Bogsader (Sweden Menkyo Kaiden).

While in Paris he had the opportunity to attend seminars organised by Sylvain GUINTARD one of the first teachers of Bujinkan in Europe and particularly in France (teacher of Arnaud Cousergue). The themes of the seminars were  Meditation and Martial Arts, Zen, Shugendo etc. Since 1990 Sylvain Guintard lives in Japan and holds the title of JAKKO IN KUDAN, Buddist Priest Yamabushi of the temple Shogoin in Kyoto.

Bujinkan Shihan – Kugyo Menkyo Kaiden, Harry Mitrou (武神館 師 範) has taken part in many “Taikai” in Europe and Japan instructed by Soke Massaki Hatsumi. He passed successfully the Sakki Test in 2002 in the Tai Kai of Norway, and was given the title of Shidoshi – (Instructor Bujinkan Menkyo International). At the moment he holds the  title of Shihan. In 2005 he became an authorised  instructor and representative of U.P.G. Strong Arm Defence in Greece (Solkan Europe Defence of Greece). Apart from the evening classes in Bujinkan Greece Dojo, he also gives private classes (self defence & Budo) for men and women.

Each year he and his brother Antonios Mitrou (Bujinkan Shihan) organise International TAIKAI Seminars instructed by Great Menkyo Kugyo in Bujinkan Ninjutsu. These Seminars are open not only to those who already know the Bujinkan Ninjutsu but also to those who wish to get involved with Ninpo Taijutsu and teaching of Hatsumi Sensei.
